How this tour does good:
- Sustainability: The meeting points are centrally chosen and can be easily reached by public transport. The tour times are coordinated with the public transport timetable. As we are on foot we discover the national park with as little CO² output as possible.
- Local Economy: This tour has been awarded the regional seal “Good things from here”. Behind this is a network that brings together regional producers and consumers of regional products. The ingredients for the picnic come from producers within a maximum radius of 30km.
Enjoy a day's hiking in the mountains of Saxon Switzerland, disccovering hidden rocks and unique views. We'll cover around 10km, and on the way, enjoy the best ingredients from the region, such as fresh bread from a traditional family bakery, delicious cheese from a small farm dairy, hearty sausage from a farm with its own butcher's shop and much more. Every hike needs time for sufficient breaks and we make the most of ours - with a snack here, a luxurious picnic there and something sweet for the end of the tour. A hiking day in Saxon Switzerland could hardly be better!
